Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet has a rich history dating all the way back to the 17th century. A small and relatively unknown estate, they own a modest 9 hectares across the less fashionable but underrated village of Saint-Aubin, as well as Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. They are located in the small village of Gamay, tucked deep into the hills of Saint-Aubin.
This is a ripe and attractively fresh wine with black pinot fruit liqueur-like scents that are trimmed with hints of violet and lilac. There is fine volume and energy to the relatively robust flavours that are shaped by notably ripe tannins on the firm and youthfully austere finale.
