Woodchester Valley Wines, Bacchus

Woodchester Valley Wines, Bacchus

Woodchester Valley was established in 2007 when a single acre was planted on our Amberley site to assess the suitability of the land for growing vines. The first vintage, a crisp dry Bacchus was produced from the 2010 harvest. This was followed by a further planting in 2011, with the Woodchester site planted in 2012 (20 acres), and Doverow in 2013 (another 20 acres). The winery was established in 2016, with the 2016 vintage being the first produced on site.

The Bacchus is a grape named after the Roman god of wine. This is a quintessential representation of the varietal style. Aromatic yet dry, with both early and late harvested fruit this wine offers complex flavours of zesty citrus and gooseberry, subtle lychee and pineapple, with a distinctive elderflower aroma. The finish is mouthwatering and incredibly refreshing.
