Produced from two parcels on opposite sides of the Ngaruroro river, this wine is aged 15 months in 80% new French oak, undergoing 8 months batonnage and partial MLF. The nose is tightly bound with aromas of ripe citrus fruits intermixed with creamy barrel ferment and lemon-curd and buttery notes. The aromatics unfold to reveal considerable richness and toasty oak, and nutty complexities. Medium-full bodied, densely packed with flavours of ripe citrus fruits and yellow stonefruits which are entwined with rich, creamy barrel-ferment and nutty layers with toasty oak and butterscotchl. The wine is mouthfilling and the flavours underlined by excellent lacy acidity. This has drive and power and the wine carries through to a strong and long, citrus and nutty flavoured finish. This is a rich, lush and creamy, traditionally-styled Chardonnay with plenty of acid cut.
